Jean-Marc Piché is a renowned director of feature films and television commercials, celebrated for his exceptional storytelling ability and bold visual style. With over ten years of commercial experience under his belt, he has established himself as one of the most sought-after directors in Canada.
Piché's impressive portfolio features a diverse range of commercials for prominent brands such as Molson Golden, 7-Up, Ford, Chrysler, and Air Canada, working alongside top agencies like Leo Burnett, Young & Rubicam, Publicis, and Cossette.
After completing his studies in communications and filmmaking at Montreal University, Piché began his career as a cinematographer for Montreal television, working on documentaries. He then shifted his focus to become a director, using the money he earned as a Director of Photography to shoot music videos for local bands in Montreal for free.
This investment paid off when he started working full-time as a director, shooting clips that soon caught the attention of Toronto-based Avion Films and Cinelande, Montreal, where he is represented for spots in Canada.
With a desire to expand his creative horizons into feature films, Piché decided to take the initiative and use his own money to shoot a short film called 'Combustion', which won the award for best short film at the 1995 Belgium Film Festival. This success also led to him being tapped to direct the upcoming sci-fi action film, 'The Minion', starring Dolph Lundgren.
Recently, Piché received the Gold Award for Best Advertising Direction from the Gala du Publicité Club de Montréal for his Molson Dry spot. His success in Canada has now attracted the attention of the US advertising community, and he has joined Conspiracy, a national television commercial production company.
