Jeff Scher is a multifaceted artist who has made a significant impact in both the world of painting and experimental filmmaking.
As a painter, his work is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art and the Hirshhorn Museum, and has been showcased at esteemed institutions such as the Guggenheim Museum, the Pompidou Center in Paris, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
In addition to his painting, Scher is also a renowned experimental filmmaker whose work has been screened at numerous film festivals around the globe, including the opening night of the New York Film Festival.
His paintings have been featured in both solo and group exhibitions at prominent New York galleries, and he has also created commissioned work for a variety of notable clients, including HBO, HBO Family, PBS, and the Sundance Channel.
As an educator, Scher teaches graduate-level courses at the School of Visual Arts and NYU Tisch School of the Arts Kanbar Institute of Film & Television's Animation program.
A resident of Brooklyn, Scher is married with two sons, but is soon to relocate to Connecticut.
