Person Biography:
Jemma Redgrave was born into a family of actors and writers. Her parents, Pauline Yates and Donald Churchill, were well-known for their work in television and film. Jemma trained at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, leaving at the age of 18 to pursue a career in acting.
Her early work included playing a borstal girl in the feature film Scrubbers, followed by appearances in various TV shows and films. She has since become a regular fixture on British television, guest-starring in a wide range of dramas and soaps, including Red Dwarf, Doctors, Midsomer Murders, Jonathan Creek, and Holby.
Jemma has also had a successful career in theatre, creating the stage role of Mrs. Bevan in Nativity! The Musical, which led to her being cast in the feature film Nativity Rocks! She has worked with renowned playwright Sir Alan Ayckbourn, creating a new role in his comedy play Birthdays Past. Birthdays Present, which premiered in the UK in 2019.
In addition to her acting work, Jemma has also produced and starred in several independent films, including Beached and Deny Everything. She has worked with the science fiction/Doctor Who audio company Big Finish, recording several audio dramas. Jemma has also appeared in several Doctor Who productions, including the 50th Anniversary special Fiveish Doctors Reboot, in which she plays herself.
Throughout her career, Jemma has demonstrated her versatility and range as an actress, appearing in a wide variety of roles and mediums. She continues to be a respected and beloved figure in the British entertainment industry.
