Biography

Jenna, a third-generation cinematographer, has spent over twenty years honing her craft, producing, directing, and filming a wide range of documentaries that tackle social, political, and music-related topics. Her passion for storytelling and people has allowed her to not only capture stunning visuals but also to direct numerous high-profile and award-winning projects. Her work has been featured on a diverse array of platforms, including HBO, Showtime, PBS, Netflix, Amazon, New York Times.com, CNN, Nat Geo, MTV, VH1, USA Network, TLC, Discovery Channel, BBC, Sundance Channel, A&E, ESPN, ABC, and CBS.

Jenna's directing credits include the critically acclaimed documentary "Dave and Trey Go to Africa", which follows musicians Dave Matthews and Trey Anastasio as they collaborate with Orchestra Baobab in Dakar, Senegal. The documentary received widespread critical acclaim and showcased Jenna's ability to balance artistic vision with technical expertise.

In 2005, Jenna worked as a co-cinematographer on the award-winning documentary "Jesus Camp", which explores the world of an evangelical summer camp for kids. The film earned numerous accolades, including a 2007 Academy Award Nomination for Best Feature Documentary.

Jenna's feature documentary "Junior" premiered in 2009 and tells the heartwarming story of a mother and son growing old together. The film won the Best Documentary prize at the 2009 Woodstock Film Festival and the 2009 Audience Award at Sheffield Docfest in the UK.

As a cinematographer, Jenna has had the privilege of collaborating with some of the industry's most talented filmmakers, including Heidi Ewing & Rachel Grady, Amy Berg, RJ Cutler, Marina Zenovich, Lauren Greenfield, and Rory Kennedy.

Jenna's more recent work includes producing and directing a two-hour documentary special for History Channel, "LA Riots: 25 Years Later", which delves into the racial and political significance of the country's most devastating urban riot. Throughout her career, Jenna has demonstrated a commitment to telling important and timely stories, and her work has been recognized with numerous awards and nominations.

As a member of the Academy Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Jenna is part of a community of filmmakers dedicated to pushing the boundaries of storytelling and visual art.
