Jennifer Holland's latest acting endeavor is her starring role as Emilia Harcourt in the highly anticipated HBO Max action series "Peacemaker". Based on DC Comics and executive produced and written by James Gunn, the show marks the first DC Extended Universe television series. It follows Peacemaker, played by John Cena, who believes that achieving peace is worth any cost. Holland shines as Harcourt, a loyal and experienced black ops member who is unafraid to get the job done.
As Harcourt, emotions and friendships are seen as liabilities, and she is initially put off by the arrival of inexperienced new recruit Leota Adebayo, played by Danielle Brooks. Holland first portrayed Harcourt in Warner Bros' "The Suicide Squad", Gunn's reimagining of the 2016 feature. The new series picks up where the film left off and is set to premiere on January 13, 2022, on HBO Max.
In addition to her work on "Peacemaker", Holland has appeared in several television shows, including "Sun Records", "Rush Hour", "Perception", "The Glades", "American Horror Story", "Bones", "Rizzoli & Isles", "Cougar Town", and "CSI: Miami". Her film credits include "Brightburn", an anti-superhero horror flick opposite Elizabeth Banks.
Born and raised outside of Chicago, Holland developed a passion for performing through her competitive gymnastics training. She participated in theater throughout middle and high school, joining the drama and film clubs to further explore her love of acting. At just 16 years old, she made the bold decision to pursue a professional career in Los Angeles, moving to the west coast to immerse herself in the industry.
Over the years, Holland has been dedicated to supporting various charitable causes, recognizing the importance of giving back. She is an ongoing supporter of The Rainforest Trust and is passionate about criminal justice reform, reducing human impact on the environment, and combating climate change. When she's not on set, Holland can be found enjoying the outdoors, hiking, biking, kayaking, and being active. She is also an astronomy enthusiast, admiring astronomers, theoretical physicists, engineers, and scientists as her heroes.
Currently residing in the Los Angeles area with her pets, puggle Lola and cat Emily, Holland continues to work tirelessly in the entertainment industry, using her platform to make a positive impact on the world.
