Jennifer Lee Crowl is a multi-talented individual with a background in acting, musical theater, and choreography. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she grew up in Belle Vernon, a small suburb approximately twenty-five miles southeast of Pittsburgh. Her early performing opportunities were nurtured by her mother, a professor of music therapy at a local community college.
Jennifer's early education in dance took place at Katy Lyon Dance Center in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. She later attended West Virginia University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, partially funded by a dance scholarship with the WVU Ballet Ensemble.
Upon graduating, Jennifer turned down a full-time teaching position in North Carolina to pursue a job dancing in the Oktoberfest show at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia. She went on to perform in various shows, including a bus-and-truck tour of The Will Rogers Follies and regional theater appearances in Singin' in the Rain, George M!, and Anything Goes.
In 1998, Jennifer relocated to New York City and joined the Radio City Rockettes in the Christmas Spectacular. She received her Actors Equity Card performing in the ensemble of Crazy for You at Paper Mill Playhouse, which was later filmed for PBS Great Performances. This opportunity led her to meet Susan Stroman, a renowned Broadway choreographer and director, who cast her in the first National Tour of The Producers, a new Mel Brooks Musical.
Jennifer's musical theater career flourished under Stroman's guidance, and she went on to perform in the ensemble and as a dance captain in the tour for two and a half years. Her Broadway debut came in another Mel Brooks Musical: Young Frankenstein.
Jennifer earned her SAG card by dancing in the 2005 Universal remake of The Producers. She appeared in two production numbers in the film: "I Wanna Be A Producer" (girl in pearls) and "Along Came Bialy" (little old lady dancing with a walker in Central Park).
More recently, Jennifer's film credits include Arbitrage (receptionist) and The Other Woman (shopper).
