Biography

Jerry Decker is a multi-talented individual who has made a significant impact in the film and television industry. As the writer and director of the critically acclaimed French New Wave horror film, Le Dernier d'Entre Nous, and the upcoming crime drama Cul-De-Sac, Decker has demonstrated his versatility and skill in crafting compelling narratives.

Decker's educational background is impressive, having graduated from California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in film. He also had the opportunity to hone his writing skills at The Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College.

After completing his education, Decker began his career in television, spending four years writing for the A&E Biography series. He then went on to write and edit a variety of shows for several major networks, including the History Channel, The Travel Channel, The Outdoor Channel, and TLC.

Decker's experience and expertise eventually led him to join Original Productions, where he worked as a series producer on several hit Discovery shows, including Lobster Wars, Swords, and Verminators. He also produced the NBC reality series Shark U and National Geographic's Wild Justice.

In 2011, Decker made the transition to Gurney Productions, where he produced the special effects reality series Monster Man for SyFy. The following year, he accepted the position of executive producer of series at National Geographic Television, overseeing the production of several successful series, including To Catch a Smuggler, Inside: Combat Rescue, Inside: Secret America, and Top Secret Sites.

In 2014, Decker relocated to New York City, where he began a fruitful partnership with ITV Studios. He served as the showrunner for the hit Animal Planet series Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters, which he directed for two seasons.

Since then, Decker has directed a wide range of non-fiction series for Discovery, National Geographic, and Netflix, solidifying his reputation as a talented and versatile filmmaker.
