Rich Koz, a renowned television personality, is most notably remembered for his iconic portrayal of Svengoolie on the popular Chicago-based program "Screaming Yellow Theater" which aired from 1970 to 1973, captivating audiences with his unique blend of humor and horror.

In 1978, Koz made the transition to San Diego, where he assumed the role of host for the local program "Sun Up San Diego". During his 13-year tenure, he garnered an impressive three Emmy Awards, solidifying his status as a respected and accomplished television personality.

In addition to his busy schedule, Koz also pursued his passion for entrepreneurship, establishing two Chicago-themed restaurants, the Greek Islands Cafe and Asaggio Pizza, which became beloved institutions in the city.

Tragically, Rich Koz's life was cut short when he succumbed to a heart attack at a local San Diego hospital, leaving behind a legacy that continues to entertain and inspire fans to this day.
