Jessica Malka was born in the vibrant city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, setting the stage for a life filled with creativity and passion. Her early career began with appearances in various youth television programming, showcasing her talent to a wide audience. She starred in the popular shows Lassie, Watatatow, and 11 Somerset, a unique double shoot that featured both English and French episodes, with Jessica taking on the lead role.
In 2004, Jessica landed the coveted role of Marquise Lefrançois in the critically acclaimed film La Peau Blanche, which won the Best Canadian First Feature award at the Toronto International Film Festival. Her performance was met with widespread acclaim, earning her a spot on the cover of the prestigious Canadian Front Film Festival (Museum of Modern Art) and praise from Variety.com, who described her as having "...live-wire brazenness..." in her portrayal.
After this breakout role, Jessica continued to hone her craft by working on numerous popular television shows in Quebec, including Minuit Le Soir, Nos Étés, and Providence. She also pursued her education, earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance from Concordia University.
In 2012, Jessica made the bold decision to relocate to Toronto, Ontario, to further her acting career. She enrolled in the Pro Actors Lab and landed roles on the hit TV shows Being Human, Satisfaction, and Hannibal. Not content to stop there, Jessica soon relocated to Los Angeles to study Improv at the renowned UCB and train at The Aquila Studio with the esteemed Deborah Aquila.
During her time in Los Angeles, Jessica booked commercial campaigns for both North America and Europe, as well as numerous short films, solidifying her status as a talented and versatile actress.
