Jewel Shepard has made a remarkable transition from acting to writing. Born to be a movie star, she spent 15 years working in the film industry, appearing in numerous grade B movies and TV shows. Her experiences were often challenging, including being thrown into pig excrement, being beaten up by warrior women, and being devoured by giant bugs.
Despite the difficulties, Jewel has had some notable roles, including a zombie-chasing scene in the horror-comedy "The Return of the Living Dead" and a dramatic moment in the film "Scenes from the Goldmine". She has also worked with notable actors such as Joey Pantiliano, Timothy B. Schmidt, and Steve Railsback.
Jewel's most notable role, however, was as a blind hooker in the film "Roots of Evil". This was followed by a string of films where she would often pop off her top, including "Zapped!", "My Tutor", and "Raw Force".
Tired of the Hollywood grind, Jewel decided to pursue a second career goal as a writer. She wrote the book "Invasion of the B-Girls", which became a bestseller and led to her writing for magazines such as Premiere, Cosmopolitan, and Details.
Jewel's writing career has been marked by a variety of assignments, including profiling the Queen of B-Movies, Julie Strain, and covering the Hollywood scene for magazines. She has also written for the Associated Press and is working on a few secret projects.
In addition to her writing, Jewel has recently appeared in a few films, including "The Cooler" opposite William Macy and "The Artist", where she played a flapper babe opposite Jean Dujardin's Academy Award-winning performance.
