A renowned filmmaker, she embarked on a journey of creative pursuit after obtaining a degree in philosophy and literature from the University of Wisconsin. This marked the beginning of her transition to the world of film, as she relocated to New York to further her education and hone her craft.
Subsequently, she worked tirelessly behind the scenes, taking on roles as a coordinator, production manager, and line producer for both studio and independent feature films. Her professional development was further enhanced by the opportunity to study film directing under the guidance of the illustrious Robert Wise.
Prior to making her directorial debut with the critically acclaimed film Clockwatchers in 1997, she delved into the world of improvisational technique in Manhattan, refining her skills and preparing herself for the demands of the film industry.
In addition to her work as a filmmaker, she has also served as a judge for the prestigious cable television ACE Awards for a period of five years. Her debut film, Clockwatchers, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to be screened at over a dozen international festivals, garnering widespread critical acclaim and accolades.
In recognition of her outstanding work, Clockwatchers won the Best Film prize at the Torino International Festival of Young Cinema in 1997, cementing her position as a talented and innovative filmmaker.
