Jillian Rose Reed, a talented actress, relocated from her hometown of Northville, Michigan to Los Angeles, California at the tender age of thirteen to pursue a career in television and film. Growing up in musical theater, the stage was her second home from the age of three until she left for Hollywood. As a young actress, she was already established in the Midwest region, known for her voiceover and commercial work.
Reed's passion for her craft was evident, and she was destined for a successful career in entertainment. Her breakout role as Goth Girl Symonne in the Showtime series Weeds, alongside Hannah Marks, Alexander Gould, and Mary Louise Parker, gained her recognition as an up-and-coming young Hollywood actress.
This role led her to her memorable five-season series regular role on MTV's award-winning original scripted series Awkward, where she played fan favorite Tamara Kaplan. Reed's performance earned her a Young Artist nomination for Lead Actress for Best Performance in a TV series.
In addition to her television work, Reed has appeared in several feature films, including My Super Psycho Sweet 16, Age of Dinosaurs, Confessions of a Womanizer, and Sharon 123. Reed is also a talented voice actress, voicing the role of spunky Naomi, Princess Elena's BFF in Disney's animated television series Elena of Avalor. She is an advocate for The American Diabetes Foundation, supporting her older brother who lives with Type 1 diabetes, and is a celebrity board member for the non-profit organization Breaking the Chains Foundation, which aims to heighten awareness of eating disorders in the Hollywood community and beyond.
