Jim Fall has had a remarkable directing career spanning over three decades, with a diverse range of projects in theatre, film, and television. His first feature film, "Trick," premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and Berlin Film Festival in Dramatic Competition, and was released by Fine Line Features in the summer of 1999, becoming their highest-grossing film of that year.
Jim's studio directing debut, "The Lizzie McGuire Movie," was a big-screen adaptation of the Disney Channel series starring Hilary Duff, and was a significant box office success for Disney, opening at number two below "X-men 2" and earning back its 17 million dollar budget its first weekend.
In television, Jim has worked on a variety of projects, including the A&E TV movie "Wedding Wars," starring John Stamos and James Brolin, as well as the Hallmark TV movies "Holiday Engagement" and "Kristin's Christmas Past," both of which have become annual holiday favorites. He has also directed episodes of the VH1 scripted comedy "So NoTORIous" and the Darren Star-produced comedy series "Grosse Pointe."
Jim's recent theatre directing credits include the world premieres of Mark Saltzman's musicals "Alice, Formerly of Wonderland" and "Falling For Make Believe," as well as the musical "Primal Scream, The Musical" at the Smothers Theater, Pepperdine University. He has also directed Howard Skora's comedies "Miserable With an Ocean View" and "Damaged Furniture" at the Whitefire Theater, and Gary Lennon's drama "The Interlopers" at the Bootleg Theater.
Jim is currently developing several new projects, including the TV series "The Lord Won't Mind," based on Gordon Merrick's 1971 New York Times bestseller, as well as the feature film "Hate: A Love Story," based on the true story of Al Snyder who took the Westboro Baptist Church to the Supreme Court after they protested his military son's funeral. He is also set to direct the original movie musical "Out In The Vineyard," which will be shot in 2025.
