Biography

Jim Gulliford's journey in the world of acting began in his childhood, when he first stepped onto the stage in a 5th grade play. This initial experience sparked a passion within him, and he went on to audition for every play he could find, landing every role he tried out for. As he continued to hone his craft, he found himself increasingly drawn to the world of acting, with each new role strengthening his desire to pursue a career in the field.

In 1988, Jim made the move to Phoenix, Arizona, where he continued his education in acting by enrolling in classes with various instructors. He remained active in local theater productions, working with a range of directors and actors, and continued to refine his skills.

As the years passed, Jim's ambition to break into the world of film and television only grew stronger. He began working with filmmaker Tiffany Dang on a number of projects, including the feature film trailer "Regrets," the short film "Torn," which won the Best Asian-American Romantic Short award at the 1998 New York International Independent Film & Video Festival, and the TV pilot "Half-Sis."

In 2002, Jim landed his big break, starring in the feature film "Sometimes Sorrow Looks Like Elaine." This success led to a string of busy years, with Jim finding himself juggling multiple projects and having to turn down opportunities due to scheduling conflicts. However, this level of activity was seen as a positive sign, indicating that he was in high demand and able to choose his projects wisely.

Jim's next feature film role was in "The Donut-Chronicles," which was shot on location in Sedona. He then returned to the stage, performing in "The Audition Room" at the Metro Arts Theatre, directed by his long-time teacher, coach, and friend Raymond Shurtz.

In recent years, Jim has appeared in a number of films, including "Downsized," which was shot in Las Vegas, Lake Powell, and Phoenix, and "How to Be a Hitman." He is currently working on the film "Surface to Air," which will be shot in Scottsdale, Las Vegas, and New Mexico. Jim is represented by FORD/Robert Black and has also appeared in numerous independent films and commercials, both locally and nationally.
