Jim Lewis is a renowned American television and film producer, whose impressive portfolio includes a range of notable productions. His credits include the popular television shows The Great American Car War and Skating's Next Star, as well as a plethora of space documentaries and documentary series, such as One Giant Leap, America's Animal Astronaut Heroes, Untold Stories from the Rocket Ranch, and many more.
In addition to his television work, Lewis has also served as the line producer for the feature film Space Brothers and was part of a team that won a regional Emmy Award for their live mission coverage of the STS-95 John Glenn Space Shuttle launch. Furthermore, he received the prestigious Kolcum Award from the National Space Club in recognition of his significant contributions to publicizing the space industry.
Born in Rochester, New York, and named after his father, James C. Lewis, Sr., Jim Lewis embarked on a successful career in television production. In January 1978, he founded Communications Concepts, Inc. (CCI),a television production company that went on to produce live television coverage of rocket launches from space centers in Florida, California, and Kazakhstan.
Under his guidance, CCI produced comprehensive coverage of the Malaysian Government's astronaut mission on the International Space Station. Lewis's company has also been involved in various other high-profile productions, including live television coverage of rocket launches and automotive-related projects.
Currently, Lewis is working on a variety of new productions, including an automotive talk show pilot that has recently been accepted by a network, as well as a feature film in development. In his free time, he enjoys photography and is an avid fan of motor sports. Despite spending time in Florida, Lewis also has a residence in Arlington, Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C.
