Jitka Schneiderová, a renowned Czech actress, was born on March 23, 1973, in Znojmo. Initially, she did not intend to pursue a career in teaching, but her musical and movement talents led her to enroll at JAMU instead. During her studies, she gained valuable experience by performing at the Brno City Theater and appearing in original Czech musicals in both Brno and Prague.
Her impressive performances caught the attention of the Mrštík Brothers Theater, and she was offered a place to study at DAMU, where she was mentored by esteemed instructors, including Jan Kačer. Throughout her career, Schneiderová has had the privilege of working with several renowned theaters in Prague, eventually securing a permanent engagement at Studio Ypsilon in 1996.
After seven years, she decided to leave her permanent engagement and transition to a freelance career, allowing her to take on a wider range of roles. This included appearances at the Prague Summer Shakespeare Festival, where she performed in King Lear, as well as television shows such as Nováci for TV Nova, Crossed Swords for Czech Television, and Arrowsmith.
Schneiderová's popularity was further solidified by her starring role as Hanka in David Ondříček's film The Loners, as well as her performance in Václav Vorlíček's fairy tale, The Queen of the Lakes. In 2006, she played the role of teacher Alice in the comedy How to Tame Crocodiles, and appeared in the series Airport, Black Ambulance, Přešlapy, and Pojišťovna štěstí V.
In her personal life, Schneiderová was married to actor David Švehlík and gave birth to their daughter, Sofia Anna, in 2006. In 2015, she participated in the StarDance dance competition, where she finished second with her partner Mark Dědík, losing to Marie Doležalová and Marek Zelinka.
