Joanna Hole, professionally known as Jo Hole, is a multifaceted actress with a thriving career spanning theatre, television, radio, commercials, voice-overs, and feature films. Her impressive repertoire includes a wide range of character roles that have garnered her significant attention and acclaim.
Joanna's early television success can be attributed to her recurring roles as Sally Markham in the popular series "Tenko" and Madge, the tour guide, in the Joan Hickson-starring "Miss Marple - Nemesis." This momentum led to a steady stream of guest roles and character parts in feature films.
In the realm of theatre, Joanna has had the privilege of working at esteemed institutions such as the Donmar Warehouse, Royal Shakespeare Company, and National Theatre, where she shared the stage with the renowned Glenn Close in a production of "A Streetcar Named Desire." She has also played leading roles on national tours, and has been a part of repertory companies at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre, Theatr Clwyd, and Library Theatre Manchester, among others.
Between her theatre engagements, Joanna has also ventured into directing, having worked at the Liverpool Playhouse, Young Vic Studio, and Ustinov Studio Bath. Her passion for the arts led her to co-found Co-Producers theatre company, where she served as co-Artistic Director.
In 2012, Joanna took the leap and founded Jo Hole Associates, a talent agency based at Ealing Studios, which she continues to run alongside her partner Conal Dillon from their office in Shoreditch, London.
Joanna's personal life has been marked by her marriage to the actor Christopher Rozycki in 1991, with whom she had two children, Sophie and Thomas. Unfortunately, Christopher passed away in 2015.
