JoAnna Rhambo, a native of Los Angeles, was born to her parents Ernest Rhambo, a Vietnam Veteran, and Cynthia Rhambo, a dedicated Secondary School Teacher. With a strong foundation in the arts, Rhambo began her acting career on stage, recognizing the theatre as the ultimate bootcamp for actors. She was cast in numerous productions, including 'The Colored Museum', 'Long Time Since Yesterday', 'Fightclub', and 'Chicago Club Rumboogie', which went on to win several prestigious NAACP Theater Awards.
Rhambo's first major on-screen credit arrived in 2007, when she showcased her impressive sketch comedy and improv skills on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'. Since then, she has secured a string of roles in both television and film, with notable appearances on 'Grey's Anatomy' (recurring) and opposite Jane Lynch in 'Angel from Hell' (CBS). Her film credits include 'Ride Along' (Universal Pictures),'Takers' (Sony Screen Gems),'THUMPER' (Parliament of Owls),and 'The Archer' (MarVista Entertainment).
In 2011, Rhambo took the initiative to establish her own production company, Hazel Honey Films. The company's inaugural film, 'SOLSTICE', which Rhambo wrote, produced, and starred in, premiered at the 2013 Pan African Film Festival to a sold-out audience, earning the accolade 'a powerful must-see' film.
Throughout her career, Rhambo has consistently demonstrated her versatility as an actress, effortlessly navigating both dramatic and comedic roles. Her motto, "Save Room for Surprises", reflects her commitment to continually pushing boundaries and surprising audiences.
