Joanne embarked on a journey to hone her craft as an actor by enrolling in The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, a renowned institution for actor training. She has since spent many years cultivating her skills in various mediums, including Theatre, TV, Film, and Voiceovers. Over the past decade, Joanne has discovered a new passion for filmmaking, and her extensive experience has led her to produce, co-produce, or co-write five independent movies to date.
These films, including Before Dawn, Bait, Attack of the Adult Babies, Wolf Manor (Scream of the Wolf),and Evie, have garnered international recognition by premiering at prestigious film festivals worldwide and securing international sales and distribution deals. Moreover, some of these films have had successful runs on popular streaming platforms like Netflix and Hulu.
In addition to her work behind the camera, Joanne has also taken on the director's chair, helming two short films, Sybil and The Outing. Her latest endeavor, the feature film Broken Bird, starring Rebecca Calder and James Fleet, is set to make its world premiere at the esteemed London's Frightfest film festival at The Odeon Lux Leicester Square on August 22nd, 2024.
