Biography

Joe Anderson, a talented individual, grew up in the vibrant city of East Lansing, Michigan, and went on to graduate from Western Michigan University's esteemed theatre program, where he honed his skills and developed a passion for the performing arts.

As a multifaceted artist, Anderson has made a name for himself as an award-winning director, writer, and comedian. He spent two remarkable years touring with the renowned Second City improv comedy theater, an experience that undoubtedly sharpened his comedic timing and creative instincts.

Anderson's impressive career also includes co-founding the critically acclaimed sketch comedy group "The Don't We Boys!", a venture that showcased his exceptional wit and comedic genius.

In addition to his work in comedy, Anderson has also made a significant impact in the world of theatre. He wrote and starred in the play "Shoot Faster, Dear Brother, I'm Dying!", a remarkable feat that garnered widespread critical acclaim. Lawrence Bommer, a prominent theatre reviewer, praised the play as "A remarkable feat - worthy of Mark Twain" and "Two hours of pitch-perfect parody".

Anderson's foray into film has also been marked by success. In 2013, he co-wrote and co-starred in the paranormal comedy "America's Most Haunted", which received distribution through Echo Bridge Entertainment. The movie has been hailed as "Scarier than Ghostbusters and funnier than Poltergeist".

In 2014, Anderson co-wrote and directed the movie "Pilot Error", a drama based on the true story of an ill-fated plane traveling to France. This project showcased his versatility as a filmmaker and his ability to tackle complex, thought-provoking subjects.

When he is not working on high-profile projects, Anderson is actively involved in his community. He is a board member of the all-volunteer, non-profit Dog Story Theater, where he has helped produce nearly 100 improv and sketch comedy shows.
