Joel Gilbert is the president of Highway 61 Entertainment and a multifaceted filmmaker, writer, and director. He has helmed a trio of thought-provoking political and music documentaries, including Dreams from My Real Father (2012),Atomic Jihad: Ahmadinejad's Coming War and Obama's Politics of Defeat (2010),and Farewell Israel: Bush, Iran and the Revolt of Islam (2008).
Gilbert has also produced a series of documentary features focused on iconic musicians, such as Bob Dylan, and has crafted comedic films about legendary figures like Paul McCartney (Paul McCartney Really Is Dead 2010) and Elvis Presley (Elvis Found Alive 2011).
His documentary Dreams from My Real Father made a notable appearance at the Republican National Convention in Tampa in 2012, while Atomic Jihad was screened at the CPAC Conference in Washington D.C. and won the Hudson Institute Film Festival in 2010.
As a frequent guest on national radio shows, Joel Gilbert has shared his insights with a wide audience, appearing on programs hosted by Michael Savage, Mike Huckabee, Monica Crowley, Alex Jones, Jerry Doyle, Jeff Rense, and Rusty Humphries.
Gilbert is based in Los Angeles and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of London (London School of Economics and Political Science, School of Oriental and African Studies, 1986) and a Master of Business Administration degree from George Washington University (1991).
In addition to his professional pursuits, Gilbert has a "professional hobby" - performing as Bob Dylan with original Bob Dylan band members in the world's only Bob Dylan tribute band, "Highway 61 Revisited".
