Joey, a lifelong resident of Dallas, Georgia, embarked on an unconventional career path, beginning his professional wrestling journey before graduating high school. He went on to wrestle nationwide for the Global Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling. However, his wrestling career was tragically cut short in 1993 when he suffered a broken back during a match.
Undeterred, Joey pursued a new path, becoming a highly decorated police officer in the Atlanta area. He received numerous awards for Meritorious Service, Bravery, Life Saving, and a Special Chief's Award. He was also honored with the title of Honorary State Lieutenant Colonel to the Governor's Staff by Georgia Governor Nathan Deal.
Throughout his career, Joey has demonstrated his versatility by appearing in films such as "Remember the Titans" and "Dumb and Dumberer" while still an active police officer. After his retirement from law enforcement, he has appeared in over 40 television and film titles, showcasing his range in roles from cameos to leads.
Joey has also been a driving force behind the Honor Flight Programs, helping hundreds of veterans visit their war memorials in Washington D.C. He founded the non-profit outreach "Warmth for Winter" in 2013, providing over 25,000 coats, pieces of warm clothing, shoes, toiletries, and personal items to those in need of all ages.
In addition to his acting and philanthropic endeavors, Joey volunteers as a coach for Little League baseball, sharing his love for the sport with his players. He is known for being a beloved coach, and his players often play practical jokes on him but fight through crowds to get one of his famous hugs.
Joey resides in Dallas, Georgia, with his family and maintains a rigorous acting schedule. He is proudly represented by PureFlare Agent Brent Duncan in both Los Angeles and Atlanta, as well as location projects worldwide.
