John's academic journey began at Lehman College, where he pursued a degree in liberal arts, simultaneously honing his acting skills at the prestigious Carnegie Hall. Under the guidance of renowned acting coach Robert X. Modica, John shared the stage with notable talents such as John Turturro, David Duchovny, and Rachel Ward. Modica's influence played a significant role in John's early success, as Robert De Niro discovered him and cast him in the critically acclaimed film, A Bronx Tale.
Throughout his illustrious career, John has had the privilege of collaborating with some of the most iconic figures in the industry. He has worked alongside esteemed actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Wahlberg, Al Pacino, Sean Penn, Christopher Walken, Benicio Del Toro, Victor Argo, Jeremy Irons, Jon Cryer, and Eric Roberts. His extensive experience also includes working with visionary directors such as Brian De Palma, Woody Allen, John McTiernan, Abel Ferrara, and Fred Gallo.
In addition to his impressive acting credits, John is also a dedicated producer, teaming up with his partner Fred Gallo to create independent films. Gallo, a graduate of the esteemed University of Southern California (USC) film school, has been instrumental in John's production endeavors. Their joint projects, I am Woody and The Don of 42nd Street, have received widespread recognition and accolades, including awards for Best Film and Best Actor at the New York International Film Festival.
