John Hillner, a talented individual, has had a remarkable career in the entertainment industry. He has played iconic roles on Broadway, including Georges in the Tony Award-winning revival of La Cage aux Folles and Lank Hawkins in the original Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Crazy for You.
His extensive Broadway credits also include They're Playing Our Song alongside Tony Roberts and Lucy Arnaz, Woman of the Year with Lauren Bacall, Little Me with Victor Garber and Jimmy Coco, Zorba with Anthony Quinn, The Graduate with Kathleen Turner, Mamma Mia, Footloose, and the Roundabout Company's 25th Anniversary production of Stephen Sondheim's Company.
In addition to his Broadway accomplishments, John has also had a successful career in off-Broadway productions, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning production of Dinner with Friends, directed by Daniel Sullivan, which he starred in.
Television audiences will recognize John from his guest starring roles in popular shows such as Elementary, The Good Wife, Person of Interest, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Body of Proof, Gossip Girl, Damages, Cold Case, Numbers, and Seinfeld.
John's feature film debut was in Say Anything, directed by Cameron Crowe, followed by Money for Nothing, directed by Mike Ockrent, The Good Shepherd, directed by Robert De Niro, The Ministers, directed by Frank Reyes, and most recently, Vice, directed by Adam McKay, in which he portrayed George H. W. Bush opposite Christian Bale, Amy Adams, and Sam Rockwell.
When he's not acting, John runs a custom carpentry design firm in New York City. His greatest joy and source of inspiration comes from his loving family, including his wife, Wendy Waring, and their children, Amy, Nicholas, and Jackson.
