John's life story began in Spokane, Washington, a city that would serve as the starting point for his extensive travels across the United States. His journey into the world of musical theatre commenced when a friend encouraged him to participate in a production of The Pirates of Penzance at a local performing arts center. This initial experience had a profound impact, propelling him into a theatre career that would span four states and several years, during which he would have the opportunity to work with various chorales and light operas.
Throughout his career, John has had the privilege of being involved in numerous productions that have showcased his exceptional talent. In Washington, he had the pleasure of performing in Gilbert and Sullivan's Iolanthe, a role that would be a highlight of his early years in the industry. He also had the opportunity to take on multiple roles in the Drew Harvey Theatre Company's production of The King And I, a testament to his versatility as a performer.
As he relocated to Connecticut, John landed roles in Babes in Arms and The Pajama Game with the Curtain Call Theatre Company, further demonstrating his range as a performer. During his time in Georgia, he even attempted his hand at playwriting, a creative endeavor that would allow him to express himself in a new and exciting way.
After relocating to Auburn, John became an integral part of Placer High School's theatre productions, taking on the roles of Emile in South Pacific and Juror #4 in Twelve Angry Men. His favorite role to date, however, is that of the voice of "Audrey II" during the 2004 Summer Theatre Academy's production of Little Shop of Horrors, a performance that would be a defining moment in his career.
