John Mese, a seasoned actor with a rich background in the entertainment industry, recently brought his talents to the stage in the one-man show "Wild Son - The Testimony of Christian Brando", written by Champ Clark, in Los Angeles.
Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Beth Henley was in attendance at the premiere and praised the production, stating that Clark's play is a "burning jewel" and that John Mese is "mesmerizing", describing the experience as "rare" and "where the magic shimmers".
With over thirty years of experience as a working actor in Los Angeles and New York, John Mese has accumulated an impressive resume, including recurring arcs opposite notable actresses such as Mariska Hargitay, Ally Walker, and Marlee Matlin.
He has had the opportunity to work with esteemed directors such as Tom Hanks and Lili Zanuck on HBO's "From the Earth to the Moon", as well as with Steven Soderbergh on various projects, including "Winston", "Schizopolis", and the Showtime TV series "Fallen Angels".
In addition to his acting career, John Mese has also been working as a writer, director, and producer. His screenplay "Scrum" was selected as one of the top 50 out of over 4,000 entries in the inaugural Project Greenlight contest.
Mese has also written, directed, and acted in the film "Perfect Day", which premiered at the New Orleans Film Festival in 2007. In 2013, he produced, served as first assistant director, and acted in "King of Herrings", which premiered at the New Orleans Film Festival and won the coveted Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature.
John and his wife Dawn Kelsey launched their children's book company "Flippy and Friends" with illustrator Chanler Holden in 2008, making children's literature a part of their creative endeavors.
John Mese has received numerous accolades for his work, including the "Young Alumnus of the Year Award" from Louisiana State University in 2000. Some of his favorite roles on stage include Brick in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof", Hoss in "The Tooth of Crime" by Sam Shepard, Kim in "Search and Destroy", and now Christian Brando in "Wild Son".
