Biography

Johnny Lee's remarkable musical journey began with a stint working alongside the illustrious Norman Petty, the producer who played a pivotal role in the career of the legendary Buddy Holly, in Clovis, New Mexico. Prior to embarking on this life-changing adventure, Johnny Lee departed from his hometown of Farwell, Texas, accompanied by his band "Baby", with the shared dream of making a name for themselves in the music industry.

As the late 1970s arrived, Johnny Lee made his way to Los Angeles, where he began to make a name for himself by touring with the renowned Bonnie Raitt and The Bump Band. His impressive touring resume continued to grow, as he went on to share the stage with the likes of Taj Mahal, Ronnie Wood, and John Fogerty.

Today, Johnny Lee dedicates his time to running the esteemed Ultra Tone Studios, where he has had the privilege of recording all the CDs for the Phantom Blues Band. His most recent endeavor has been the recording and mixing of the latest Little Feat project, solidifying his reputation as a master of his craft.
