Jon Brewer is a music and media industry veteran with a career spanning four decades. He began his journey in management, working with renowned artists such as David Bowie, Mick Taylor of The Rolling Stones, Alvin Lee of Ten Years After, Gene Clarke of Yes, and Gerry Rafferty. As his experience grew, he transitioned into publishing and the emerging video industry, where he became the head of the third-largest video distributor in the UK.
Film production soon followed, and Brewer produced several studio pictures that achieved significant commercial success, ultimately leading him to focus exclusively on film and television. Drawing upon his extensive knowledge, contacts, and expertise, he created the authentic Classic Artists Series, a collection of music documentaries featuring the full participation of rock icons. This series was distributed worldwide, solidifying Brewer's reputation as a leading figure in music documentary filmmaking.
Recently, Brewer produced and directed the critically acclaimed 'BB King: The Life of Riley', narrated by Morgan Freeman, which has been hailed as a masterpiece. This achievement led the Nat King Cole Estate to commission him to create a documentary about the life of Nat King Cole, titled 'Nat King Cole: Afraid of the Dark', a project that promises to shed new light on the legendary artist's life and legacy.
