Jon's educational background began with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Colorado College. This foundation laid the groundwork for his early foray into the film industry, where he worked as a crew member on the popular television series Twin Peaks, as well as music videos for renowned artists such as Madonna and Prince.
Jon's academic pursuits continued as he was accepted into the New York University Graduate Film Program. During his time at NYU, he directed the award-winning short film Dinner with Malibu in 1993. He later completed his studies at the prestigious FEMIS in Paris, further honing his craft.
Jon's short film career flourished, with the success of his series, Mésaventures d'Alfred le crapaud, Les (The Unfortunate Adventures of Alfred the Toad),which marked the beginning of his career in directing commercials. He went on to produce and direct the feature Mafia comedy Mob Queen in 1998, starring Tony Sirico of The Sopranos, which was later sold to television in France.
Jon's critically acclaimed short film, Le barbier, released in 2001, starred French actor Ticky Holgado. Throughout his career, he has also worked on several successful television series, including Sous le soleil in 1996 and MTV's The Real World in Paris.
The success of his short film, Ben and Thomas, in 2004, led Jon to develop the story of these two lovable skateboard fans into a feature film, Pee Stains and Other Disasters, released in 2005. He also created a television series, Ben and Thomas, in 2008, further cementing his reputation as a talented and versatile filmmaker.
