Jon's journey in filmmaking commenced during his early high school years, as he began to hone his craft by gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of film production, including directing, producing, camera operation, writing, and editing.
Subsequently, Jon enrolled in the prestigious Film Foundation program at the Vancouver Film School, where he further refined his skills and laid the groundwork for a successful career in the film industry.
Jon's initial foray into feature filmmaking was marked by the production of his first short film, Apt. 310, which garnered significant attention by playing at eleven film festivals and winning two awards for Best Short Film.
In 2004, Jon was awarded a grant from the Ontario Arts Council, which enabled him to direct the short film The Other Celia. This experience was followed by the critically acclaimed short film Still Life, which also received widespread recognition and accolades.
Jon's success in the short film circuit led to his first feature film, Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer, which generated considerable buzz throughout the festival circuit and received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike.
Jon's subsequent feature film, The Shrine, premiered at the 2010 FanTasia Int'l Film Festival and won the Audience Award for Best Canadian Feature, cementing his reputation as a talented and innovative filmmaker.
Jon's most recent feature film, Goddess of Love, is a psychological thriller that stars the talented Alexis Kendra and is sure to thrill audiences with its unique blend of suspense and intrigue.
