Jon Locke's journey began with a graduation from Florida State University, marking the start of his illustrious career. His 11-month world tour with the US Air Force, facilitated by the play "Flame Out" written and directed by Alan Mowbray, was a defining experience. Following his honorable discharge, Locke recreated the co-starring role of Tex, an F-86 fighter pilot, in the Broadway production directed by Mowbray and produced by John Wayne.
The opportunity to appear in the film The Scarlet Coat (1955) arose when director John Sturges extended an invitation to Locke. He also secured a recurring role in the Broderick Crawford series Highway Patrol (1955) as Officer Garvey, further solidifying his presence in the entertainment industry.
