José Ignacio Valenzuela, professionally known as Chascas, is a multifaceted and accomplished Chilean writer and screenwriter, whose impressive body of work has garnered recognition across various mediums in Chile, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Europe, and the United States.
As an author, he has published numerous novels and short stories, with almost twenty books to his credit in Latin America. Some of his notable works include the best-selling Trilogía del malamor, Malaluna, Mi abuela la loca, Hashtag, and El filo de tu piel. Valenzuela's literary prowess has been acknowledged, as he was selected by About, then a subsidiary of the New York Times Company, as one of the top 10 young Latin American writers.
