Tommy Tim Taylor, better known by his stage name Josh Taylor, was born in Princeton, Illinois, and later moved to Chillicothe, Illinois, when he was just two years old. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth University, where he developed a strong foundation for his future endeavors. Despite his laid-back demeanor, Josh managed to buckle down and earn a Juris Doctorate in Law, showcasing his versatility and dedication to his craft.
Josh's early career was marked by his role as Chris Kositchek on the popular soap opera Days of Our Lives, where he won the hearts of many lady fans with his charming smile and virility. He played the character for four seasons, from 1977 to 1981, and later returned to the role for another five years in 1982.
After his success on Days of Our Lives, Josh transitioned to prime-time TV with the sitcom Valerie, where he played the role of Michael Hogan, the husband of series star Valerie Harper. However, the show underwent a significant change when Valerie Harper was abruptly dismissed due to squabbles with the network, and the show was renamed The Hogan Family, with Sandy Duncan joining the cast as Valerie's sister and household help.
Josh's subsequent projects included brief forays into mini-movies and episodics, such as Murder, She Wrote and Matlock, as well as a recurring role as Luke Perry's ne'er-do-well father on Beverly Hills, 90210. However, these projects failed to maintain a steady pace, and Josh eventually returned to the daytime soap opera scene with brief stints on The Young and the Restless and Guiding Light.
In 1997, Josh returned to his roots on Days of Our Lives, this time playing the role of Roman Brady, a character he would stay with until 2004, when his character was a victim of a studio cost-cutting measure. However, it was later discovered that his character had managed to survive after all. Josh continues to play out an attention-getting love triangle with co-stars Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn on the show, living a "nine lives" cat-like existence.
In his personal life, Josh has been married twice, first to film action bombshell Sandahl Bergman, with whom he has a daughter named Tristen. He later remarried and lives with his wife, Lisa, in Burbank, California.
