Here is the biography of Jossara Jinaro:
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Jossara Jinaro was the love child of two Maoists. She moved to Colombia with her mother after her mother married a Colombian diplomat. Growing up, Jossara was fascinated by movies, particularly "Gilda" starring Rita Hayworth. She began dancing at the age of 5 and made her stage debut by the time she was 8.
Jossara's family sought safety in the United States after her stepfather was held hostage by guerrilla forces. She learned English at the age of 15 and struggled to balance her traditional Latin American upbringing with her new American identity. At 16, she left home to pursue her artistic dreams.
Jossara's first professional gig was singing and dancing at Old Indiana Fun Park, where she was recognized as the girl playing Janet Jackson. She went on to earn a BFA in musical theatre and was recognized as the best actress and most likely to succeed.
Jossara's career took off in Chicago, where she was referred to as "dynamic and versatile, the ultimate chameleon." She was soon approached by an agent and asked to come to Los Angeles, where she was cast in the sitcom "Viva Vegas" and went on to play strong, positive, and non-traditional roles for Latinas.
She has since appeared in a range of TV shows and films, including "Judging Amy," "ER," "Passions," "La Bella Ceci y El Imprudente," and "East Los High." Her film credits include "Devil's Rejects," "Havoc," "Ten Tricks," "Fly Boys," "World Trade Center," and "Go For It!"
In addition to her acting career, Jossara is a budding filmmaker, with critically-acclaimed shorts and a feature film that was accepted into Panavision's new filmmaker's program. She has won several awards for her work, including a best supporting actress award for her role in "Desert Road Kill."
