Patty Jo Harmon, a native of Flushing, New York, was initially discovered as a guest on the popular television game show "You Bet Your Life" in 1950 by the renowned comedian Groucho Marx. This chance encounter led to an invitation to work alongside Groucho on the television program "Tell It to Groucho" in 1961.
The television exposure that Patty Jo received from these appearances subsequently translated into roles in a variety of films, including the relatively obscure "Village of the Giants" in 1965 and the more well-known "Cool Hand Luke" in 1967. However, she was often utilized primarily for her physical attributes, which contributed to her status as a pin-up girl during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Despite her limited number of television appearances, Patty Jo's career as a pin-up girl proved to be more enduring, and she eventually retired from acting to start a family and get married. Throughout her life, baking has remained a beloved pastime for her, and she has since founded Aunt Joy's Cakes, a wholesale bakery based in Burbank, California.
Patty Jo's foray into the world of baking began when she would share her treats with colleagues while working at Disney Studios. She has since built a successful business, catering to a wide range of clients and customers with her delectable baked goods.
