Born outside Philadelphia, Joy was encouraged to develop her dramatic and vocal talents from a young age. She took piano lessons, attended summer performing arts camps, and sang in her church choir. Her first stage appearance at age 4 sparked her passion for performing, but she didn't pursue it full-time until after completing her education at Wellesley College.
Joy's early career in New York City was marked by success in the theatre scene, where she honed her craft as an actress in Off-Broadway productions, television, film, and voiceovers. She even had the opportunity to study at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. Her impressive resume includes performances alongside legendary actors such as Leslie Uggams and Phylicia Rashad, and starring as a "Raelette" with the Ray Charles Tribute Orchestra.
Music was always a part of Joy's life, as she began writing songs at age 10. However, it wasn't until she discovered country music that she found her true voice. After relocating to Nashville, Joy began writing and singing with great success, knowing instinctively that this was where she belonged. "The minute I landed, I knew Nashville would be home. It was just so peaceful. It felt right."
With a newfound sense of purpose, Joy has been working tirelessly with top writers and musicians to bring her dream to life.
