Juan Carlos Andrews, a distinguished graduate of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM),earned his professional thesis, "Acoustic Analysis of the Javier Barros Sierra Auditorium," which revolutionized sound conditioning and equipment in academic settings.

At the tender age of 21, Juan Carlos joined the technical staff of the first staging of Beauty and the Beast, a mega-production by OCESA in Mexico, at the invitation of a theater producer friend. Under the guidance of the renowned live sound expert, Luis Lojo, Juan Carlos honed his skills in specialized microphones, orchestra consoles, and special effects, rapidly ascending the ranks.

From operating sound effects on Beauty and the Beast, Juan Carlos progressed to become the chief engineer on Rent and audio designer on Man of La Mancha. His exceptional talent and dedication earned him a reputation as a master sound engineer.

Moreover, Juan Carlos has been a dedicated volunteer for the SYDA Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes educational, live, and broadcast events in 150 cities worldwide. Since 2002, he has served as chief sound engineer for tours in the United States, Asia, and Europe, eventually making New York his home and reuniting with Luis Lojo, who invited him to join the esteemed team at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
