Born on November 4th, 1966, in the vibrant city of Buenos Aires, Juan Diego Solanas is the proud son of the renowned Argentine director, Fernando E. Solanas. In 1977, he accompanied his father to France, where the latter had fled due to the oppressive Argentine dictatorship. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of Juan Diego's journey, as he immersed himself in the world of art history and photography, allowing his creative passion to flourish.
Under the guidance of his father's trusted cinematographer, Felix Monti, Juan Diego honed his skills as an assistant before eventually taking the reins as a cinematographer himself. His first notable collaboration was on the 1998 film "La Nube". Following a successful stint in directing commercials, Juan Diego made his debut in the world of short films with "L'homme sans tête" in 2001. His feature-length film, "Nordeste", was released in 2005, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career.
