Judee Morton was born in Detroit, Michigan, but her family relocated frequently, settling in various cities including Shawnee, Oklahoma; Dallas, Texas; Akron, Ohio; Allentown, Pennsylvania; and Los Angeles, California. Her mother, a hardworking individual, juggled multiple careers as an waitress, telephone operator, and radio parts technician, making it possible for her daughter to receive dance lessons. Judee's father, a multifaceted individual, was a mechanical engineer, insurance salesman, airplane pilot, boat captain, and gambler.
As the middle child between two brothers, Judee would often act out scenes from Tarzan movies, where she played Jane, her older brother was Tarzan, and her younger brother portrayed Cheetah, the chimpanzee. Her passion for dance led her to audition for dance troupes in Canada and New York, and she performed in clubs to save up for tuition fees at Oklahoma State University and later, the University of California, Los Angeles (U.C.L.A.).
After a series of stage and screen roles, Judee met and married Ian Fraser, an Emmy-Award-winning composer and musical director, and has since been known as Judith Morton Fraser. She took a hiatus from film acting for two decades to focus on raising her family and earning a Master's degree in educational psychology from California State University, Northridge. She then became a marriage and family therapist, a designation licensed by the state of California.
Judith has since returned to film acting and is also a practicing psychotherapist in Los Angeles. She is the author of the self-help book, "What's So 'Good' About 'Bad' Feelings?". Her daughter, Tiffany Fraser, is a certified Yoga instructor based in Los Angeles, and her son, Neal Fraser, is a prize-winning chef in the same city.
