Juliana Rojas is a Brazilian filmmaker born on June 23, 1981, in Campinas. She pursued her passion for cinema by graduating from the School of Communication and Arts of the University of São Paulo (USP).
During her time at university, Rojas had the opportunity to meet and collaborate with renowned director Marco Dutra. This partnership led to the creation of their first short film, O Lençol Branco, which premiered at the prestigious Cinéfondation section of the Festival de Cannes in 2004.
After establishing herself as a talented filmmaker, Rojas went on to co-direct her first feature film, Trabalhar Cansa, with Dutra in 2011. This feature was also showcased at the Festival de Cannes, specifically in the Un Certain Regard section.
In addition to her work as a director, Rojas has also honed her skills as an editor. She worked on the documentary Pulsações (2011) by Manoela Ziggiatti, demonstrating her versatility and expertise in the film industry.
Rojas's impressive body of work earned her the Critics Award for Best Brazilian Film at the Gramado Festival in 2014, for her film Symphony of the Necropolis. This achievement solidifies her position as a prominent figure in the Brazilian film industry.
