Justin Bieber grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, where he began acting at the tender age of seven in the drama department of his local church. His talent was soon discovered by Atlanta agent Joy Pervis, who had previously discovered notable child stars such as Dakota Fanning and Kyle Massey. Justin spent two years in Atlanta, honing his craft through commercials and local theater.
In 2003, at the age of nine, Justin made the move to Los Angeles for pilot season, where he initially intended to stay for only three weeks. However, he ended up working for five months, booking numerous national commercials, episodic roles on popular TV shows, and a film role. His impressive resume included Mercedes Benz and Shoney's commercials, as well as appearances on The Bernie Mac Show and Malcolm in the Middle, and a role in the film Doing Hard Time.
In 2004, Justin returned to LA for his second pilot season, where he continued to build his acting credentials by booking another national commercial and roles on Judging Amy and Drake and Josh. After five successful months in LA, Justin returned to Atlanta to enroll in The Lovett School, one of the top private day schools in the country.
In 2005, Justin received an invitation to audition for the role of 'Young Simba' in the Disney Theatrical show The Lion King on Broadway. Out of thousands of other young contenders, Justin emerged as the new star of the biggest show on Broadway, making his debut on March 1st, 2006, and continuing in that role for 12 months. During his time on Broadway, Justin also booked the role of 'Travis' in the television movie adaptation of Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun, alongside Tony winners Phylicia Rashad, Audra McDonald, and Sean Combs. In January 2008, Justin joined the star-studded cast at Sundance as A Raisin in the Sun was the first made-for-television movie to ever be invited to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
Justin will be one of the three new Wildcats in High School Musical 3: Senior Year, playing the role of Donnie. Outside of acting, Justin is a brilliant student and a member of the National Honor Society and A Better Chance. He is also a talented singer and dancer, looking forward to a long and successful career in the entertainment industry as a triple threat.
Justin currently resides in LA with his mother, Trina, and his 8-year-old sister, Zion, who is also an actor, while his father, Tony, holds down the home front in Atlanta.
