Justin Smith is a talented actor, recognized for his captivating performances in notable films such as A Good Day To Die Hard (2013),Man Down (2015),and The Vampire Diaries (2009). Born into a humble blue-collar family, Justin's childhood was marked by his father's work as a firefighter, which sparked his fascination with the fire station and the possibility of following in his father's footsteps.
However, it was a friend in college who encouraged Justin to audition for a local production of Eugene O'Neill's, 'Long Day's Journey Into Night', that ultimately changed the course of his life. Although Justin had performed on stage a few times in high school, he never seriously considered acting as a career path beyond that. Nevertheless, his surprising casting as Edmund Tyrone ignited a newfound passion for acting, which he pursued with unwavering dedication and an unrelenting work ethic.
Justin's early film projects took him to Cape Town, South Africa, where he worked on the award-winning drama, 'The Silent Fall'. During his preparation for the film, Justin gained invaluable life experience by spending three weeks training alongside HIV/AIDS patients in some of Cape Town's most prominent clinics and dangerous townships. This life-changing experience had a profound impact on Justin, and he returned to Los Angeles with a newfound sense of purpose and a wealth of experience to draw upon.
In addition to his acting career, Justin is also an accomplished voice artist and television host. He gained national attention through his dual hosting duties on the nationally syndicated morning show 'The Daily Buzz' and the popular TLC series 'Designing Spaces'. Furthermore, his voice can be heard in various radio and TV advertisements, making him a versatile and sought-after talent.
Today, Justin continues to split his time between hosting and acting, having recently returned to the stage as the physically disabled and spiritually broken war soldier "Rory" in the critically acclaimed WWII drama 'Flying' at The Tampa Rep. He can next be seen co-starring alongside Shia LaBeouf and Gary Oldman in Dito Montiel's war drama 'Man Down'.
