Kaiwi Lyman-Mersereau, a native of Honolulu, Hawaii, developed a profound passion for performance from an early age. Growing up, he was an active participant in various sports and activities, including water polo, surfing, outrigger canoe paddling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and sailing. However, it was the thrill of being on stage that truly captivated him.
He further refined his craft through four years of intensive theater arts training at the Mid-Pacific Institute School of the Arts. This rigorous education laid the foundation for his future success.
Determined to pursue a career in entertainment, Kaiwi relocated to California in 2002. During his time at Santa Monica College, he delivered a monologue from The Crucible for an assignment, which promptly caught the attention of his professor. Recognizing his advanced skill level, the professor arranged for him to showcase his talent to the head of the drama department. Impressed by his raw ability, she encouraged him to audition for Juilliard. Despite his potential for a career in theater, Kaiwi was eager to transition to the screen, and his determination quickly paid off.
In 2003, he landed his first lead role as Colin in the horror film Trespassers, marking the beginning of a diverse and dynamic career. Since then, he has built an impressive body of work, taking on a wide range of roles across film, television, web series, and commercials. From comedy to drama, Kaiwi's performances continue to showcase his versatility, depth, and commitment to storytelling.
