Kaja Kallas is a prominent Estonian politician who has made significant strides in her career, notably becoming the first female prime minister of Estonia since 2021. Her leadership journey began in 2018 when she took over as the leader of the Reform Party, a position she still holds to this day. Prior to her current role, Kallas was a member of the Estonian parliament, known as the Riigikogu, serving two non-consecutive terms from 2011 to 2014 and again from 2019 to 2021.
Before entering politics, Kallas had a successful career as a lawyer, specializing in European competition law. Her expertise in this field likely played a significant role in her later success in the European Parliament, where she represented the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe from 2014 to 2018.
