Kandra is the second oldest of four daughters born to Joyce Harrison from Bismark, North Dakota, and Mel Baker from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Throughout her childhood, she engaged in both sports and acting, winning Best Actress Awards in junior high school and participating in community theater at the age of nine.
Kandra attended California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California, where she was determined to become an Olympic gymnast and an attorney. She graduated Cum Laude with a BS degree in Pre-Law, but after her first year of law school, she decided to pursue an acting career instead.
Kandra's acting career took off, with notable roles in films such as Ava's Magical Adventure, Eternity, Double-O-Kid, Bitter Harvest, and A Million To Juan, alongside notable actors like Patrick Dempsey, Timothy Bottoms, Jon Voight, and Armand Assante.
In addition to acting, Kandra also pursued a career in music, writing children's songs and pop and country tunes produced by Grammy and Dove award-winning producer Dino Maddalone. She also trained as a dancer and performed in musical theater throughout Los Angeles, making television appearances and falling in love with comedy.
Kandra's notable theater performances include playing Betsy in Sweet Charity and roles in Award-Winning productions of Anything Goes and Camelot at the Thousand Oaks Civic Light Opera. However, in 2000, she left the industry to sustain her family after tragedy struck.
After a seven-year hiatus, Kandra re-entered the entertainment industry in 2007, this time behind the scenes as a writer, director, and producer. Her first project was Little Steps...Walk with Jesus.
Kandra is also involved in several charity organizations, including CARRY, a foundation dedicated to transforming the lives of at-risk and foster youth in Los Angeles, and Project Angel Tree, which focuses on children whose parents are in prison. She is also involved with Samaritan's purse, which brings joy and hope to kids around the world.
Kandra is happily married to her hero and best friend, Jack King, and is an active golfer, dancer, and certified scuba diver. She is also a certified Tae Kwon Do blue belt and a number one Chargers football fan.
