Kangana Ranaut was born on March 23, 1987, in Bhambla, a picturesque town near Manali, situated in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, a state known for its breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Her father, Amardeep, was a successful businessman, and her mother, Asha, was a dedicated schoolteacher. Kangana has two older sisters and a younger brother, and her grandfather was a respected civil servant, serving as an IAS officer.
Growing up, Kangana spent her childhood in Dehra Dun, where she attended DAV's High School, a renowned institution known for its academic excellence. During her school days, she actively participated in various debates, elocutions, and extracurricular activities, including basketball, which helped her develop her communication and teamwork skills.
After completing her schooling, Kangana pursued her higher education at Science College in Shimla, a city known for its stunning Himalayan views and rich cultural heritage. Concurrently, she enrolled in the Elite School of Modeling, where she honed her acting skills and explored her passion for theater acting in Delhi. She was a member of the Smita Theater Group, led by the renowned director Arvind Gaur, and also received training in the traditional Indian dance form of Kathak.
In 2005, Kangana made the bold decision to relocate to Mumbai, where she settled in a flat on Yari Road, Versova. It was during this time that she was spotted by filmmaker Anurag Basu at a café in September 2005, who was impressed by her charm and eventually offered her a lead role in his film Gangster (2006).
Since then, Kangana Ranaut has established herself as a talented and versatile actress, winning numerous accolades, including four National Awards for her outstanding performances in films like Fashion (2008),Queen (2014),Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015),Manikarnika (2019),and Panga (2019).
