Karen, a multi-talented individual, began her career as an actress, racking up impressive film and television credits along the way. However, she also had a stint in an improv group, where she honed her skills in thinking on her feet. This experience sparked an epiphany - improv was essentially writing on the fly, and she wondered what would happen if she applied this concept to writing scripts. Taking the leap, she decided to put her newfound skills to the test, sitting down to craft her first screenplay. Titled "Gee Whiz," it caught the attention of Disney, securing a deal. This success was quickly followed by the sale of "Dead Lady Next Door" to Fox 2000 and "Anchorwomen" to Imagine/Universal. The big guns took notice, and Steven Spielberg himself read one of her scripts, subsequently hiring her to write a movie for DreamWorks. Her original spec script also found a home at Warner Bros. Feeling the itch to explore the world of television, Karen made the switch, penning 16 romantic comedies for Hallmark. After a successful stint in the realm of family-friendly fare, she has now returned to the world of feature films, with two new projects currently in development.
