Karen Young was born in the charming town of Pequannock, located in the state of New Jersey, and had the privilege of receiving a higher education at the esteemed Rutgers University. As the eldest of six siblings, she grew up in a loving family where her mother was a dedicated homemaker and her father was a skilled stonemason. Following her academic pursuits, Karen made the bold decision to relocate to the vibrant city of New York to pursue a career in the captivating world of acting, and it was there that she has resided ever since.
One of her earliest notable accomplishments was her outstanding performance in the original theatrical production of the critically acclaimed play "A Lie of the Mind", which was written and directed by the renowned Sam Shepard. Throughout her illustrious career, Karen has continued to work extensively in the film industry, most recently captivating audiences alongside the talented Charlotte Rampling in the French production "Heading South" (2005),which was masterfully directed by the esteemed Laurent Cantet in both Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Additionally, television viewers can also recognize Karen as the intelligent and dedicated FBI Agent Robyn Sanseverino in the highly acclaimed HBO series "The Sopranos" (1999).
