Karissa Strain is a talented Canadian actress who frequently collaborates with her identical twin sister, Katie Strain, in various film and television projects. Notably, they have appeared in a range of genres, including horror, science fiction, and dark comedy, in notable productions such as Space Channel's "Todd and The Book of Pure Evil", the Syfy show "Wynonna Earp", and MGM's adaptation of "Carrie".
Beyond their on-screen endeavors, the sisters have also pursued their passion for comedy, drawing inspiration from comedic legends Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. They have developed and performed a variety of sketch characters infused with burlesque elements in live shows across Toronto and Los Angeles, reminiscent of the classic Saturday Night Live (SNL) style.
Karissa and Katie joined forces to establish "KarKat Productions", a production company aimed at bringing their storytelling passion to life through various web content, including their YouTube channel "KarKat TV" and Instagram page "@sistersstrain". They have also created and showcased short films that have received critical acclaim and won awards at film festivals worldwide.
Their early foray into filmmaking has only whetted their appetite for the craft, and they are now driven to take a more active role in shaping the stories they help tell. Recently, they have shifted their focus from acting in other people's projects to developing their own original works. The Sisters Strain are now dedicated to writing, directing, and producing a slate of projects in the coming years, accompanied by a team of like-minded individuals who share their passion.
