Karl Theobald, a talented individual hailing from Lowestoft, Suffolk, initially began his career as a stand-up comedian, eventually transitioning to the world of acting after graduating from the prestigious Drama Centre in the year 2000. Following his graduation, he joined the esteemed theatrical touring company, Complicite, further honing his craft.
In the year 2000, Karl made his debut at the renowned Edinburgh Festival, and in 2001, he returned to the same stage as a member of the highly respected Comedy Zone. His impressive performances at the festival were just the beginning of his illustrious career.
In addition to his work as a comedian, Karl has also showcased his impressive range as a dramatic actor, appearing in various television shows, including the critically acclaimed series, Green Wing, in 2012. Furthermore, he has also made a lasting impression as the grasping landlord in the Roman-set sitcom, Plebs.
Beyond his work as an actor, Karl is also a skilled writer, and in 2002, he was part of the team that received a British Academy award for Best Television Comedy Series for scripting the popular show, The Sketch Show.
